China's Clongene's first green methanol project starts construction
Recently, Xuchang Clongene Biotech Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony for its first green methanol project with an annual output of 120,000 tons.
It is understood that the project is located in the Advanced Manufacturing Development Zone of Xiangcheng County, Xuchang City, Henan Province. It passed the filing approval on January 17. The project has a total investment of 2 billion yuan and covers an area of approximately 308.1 acres. It mainly constructs the main process equipment, storage and transportation engineering, plant-wide water supply, drainage and fire protection, power supply and distribution, power island and other auxiliary facilities. After completion, it can achieve an annual output of 120,000 tons of green methanol and self-generated power of about 30,000kW.
The project uses biomass gasification technology, which can consume waste resources such as crop straws and forestry residues to produce green methanol. It can process about 600,000 tons of green biomass resources every year.
