German Chancellor Scholz visits Covestro Asia Pacific Innovation Center

On April 15, during his state visit to China, German Chancellor Scholz led a delegation to visit Covestro's Asia-Pacific Innovation Center in Shanghai to learn how the company uses innovative high-tech plastics to support China's green transformation. The delegation consists of government officials, business leaders and media reporters. At the Asia Pacific Innovation Center, Covestro develops future-proof, sustainable products, technologies and solutions for dynamic markets such as e-mobility and renewable energy.

China is one of Covestro's largest markets, with sales accounting for more than 20% of the group's total sales in 2023. The group's cumulative investment in China has exceeded 4 billion euros. Covestro has a comprehensive regional headquarters in Shanghai, which includes the Asia-Pacific Innovation Center, the global headquarters of the Engineering Plastics Division, and the regional headquarters of a series of other business and functional departments. In addition, Shanghai is also home to the Covestro Shanghai Integrated Base, the company's largest production base in the world.
