PE or PET? Put the substrate on every quotation line

“Protective film” is not a substrate. PE and PET are different materials with different trade treatment in several markets. The quotation should say which one you are buying.

Buyers often ask for “protective film” without naming the substrate. That is a problem, because PE and PET films are not interchangeable — not in performance, and not in the trade measures that can apply to them in different markets.

PE film is used for carpet protection, collision wrap, pallet wrap and most surface protection. PET film is a different polymer, used where stiffness, clarity or temperature resistance matter. A quotation that says only “protective film” leaves the buyer guessing which one will arrive.

The practical rule is simple: every quotation line should state the substrate — PE, PET or other. If a supplier cannot tell you the substrate, ask before you compare price. Two rolls that look the same can sit under different duty treatment.

We state the substrate on every line. It is not a marketing line; it is the minimum you need to compare two offers.
